I can’t say I’ve really been a big fan of Atlas Sound’s music… I deleted all but 3 songs from Let The Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel and How I Escaped the Prison of Fractals, and pretty much booted everything else of his from my iTunes after trying it out.
Still, thanks to musical tastemaster Taylor Johnston‘s recommendation of AS’s new track ‘Walkabout‘ on Twitter, I decided to give the dude another try… and as you can see from my last.fm plays, I’ve had running the song on repeat since then. Methinks the fact that Panda Bear from Animal Collective guest stars on the track might be a contributing factor… definitely has a bit of that dreamy Person Pitch vibe to it, if I do say so myself.
Never thought I’d say this, but I’m eagerly looking forward to his new album Logos later this fall. In the meantime, here’s the aforementioned track in all its glory:

Atlas Sound – “Walkabout” (w/ Noah Lennox)

I really liked that, keep the music reccomendations comin please. I just looked up passion pit and they’re amazing, I’ve heard sleepyhead before but didn’t know the artist. At least half that cd is eargasm.
Passion Pit’s got some great stuff – if you like their stuff you might want to also check out Discovery (it’s a collab between a member of Ra Ra Riot and another from Vampire Weekend, which I think speaks for itself) as well as Matt & Kim, who seem to encompass a similar energy displayed in Sleepyhead.
