Stumbled across this great ongoing series of free cinematography tutorials by Tom Antos, which is pretty much some of the best advice for beginning film/videomakers I’ve come across, free or otherwise.
In them he shows that it’s not just the camera or lighting most times, but the shot composition, color choices, production design, and just having a good eye in general that really gives your shots that sweet, professional look.
As of right now there are four tutorials in total, all of which are absolutely fantastically in-depth and useful, with examples from Tom’s own work to boot. You can check out the other 3 right after the jump, but do remember to subscribe to his YouTube channel first!
